Daniel: A man of purpose is Dan’s pm sermon for September 11, 2011. Just in time for the kids returning to school, a sermon reminding them of a teenager in the Bible, Daniel, who purposed in his heart to not allow the world around him change him from being a child of God.
One of the more interesting points in Dan’s sermon was how the Babylonians sought to change Daniel and his friends by changing their names and the accompanying meaning of those names:
From Daniel “God is my judge” to Belteshazzar “Bel protect his life”
From Hananiah “The Lord shows grace” to Shadrach “command of Aku” (the moon God)
From Mishael “Who is like God?” to Meshach “Who is as Aku?”
From Azariah “The Lord is my help” to Abednego “Servant of Nebo”
