Our congregation has been around since approximately 1884. “Spring Warrior” is the name of a local creek which used to run nearby.
We are a group of Christians with a common desire to serve Jesus Christ in every aspect of our lives. Our goal is to save the lost by teaching God’s word in its simplicity. The Bible is our only guide for every belief and practice. As a congregation, we try to pattern our practices after the early church as described in the New Testament.
When Christ came into the world, He declared that He would build His church (Matthew 16:18). The results of His work, as described in the New Testament, produced “one body” and “one faith” (Ephesians 4:4,5). We believe that any honest person can come to understand God’s will, obey it, and know that he or she is part of that one true faith. We believe that if men and women will commit themselves to following Christ, with the Bible as their only guide, then all believers can be one.
The Spring Warrior congregation is non-denominational. We uphold Jesus as Lord and the Bible as God’s inspired word. We are an independent local church doing its own work with its own funds. We organize and work just like the congregations we read of in the New Testament. This work includes elders who oversee the work (1 Timothy 3:1-7), deacons who perform specific tasks (1 Timothy 3:8-13), evangelists who teach and preach the gospel message (Ephesians 4:11), and of course members who are dedicated to God and His word (Philippians 1:1).
We are a family. We care about the spiritual needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ. We want everyone to be saved eternally, and we strive to reach and teach the lost, lift up the struggling, and encourage the strong to remain faithful.
Our worship is simple, designed to conform to the Scriptures. Its purpose to glorify God and build up those who participate. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). Our services are times of consecrated worship and Bible study. We sing praises and hymns. We join in prayer and reflect upon Christ and His word. On Sunday, we observe the Lord’s Supper to remember Jesus’ death for our sins. Also on Sunday, we give of our means to support the work of God’s church. (This is the only time a collection is taken, and only members are expected to give.)
If you are like us, you long to see people turn back to the Bible for the answers to life’s problems. You’re probably weary of denominational divisions, man-made creeds, and religious con artists who seem more interested in your money than your soul. If you’re seeking pure, simple, New Testament Christianity, then we invite you to join us at any of our assemblies.
You are invited to visit us. Please come!
Our meeting times and a map and directions to our building are on the right hand side of each page of this web site.
